Company

Sixty-seven years of making things properly.

Lumikern Energy is the newest business of a family-run Indian manufacturing group that began trading coal and minerals in 1959 and has since built cement plants, soap factories, bridges and hydro-electric stations.

Why we exist

Why we exist.

India will add more generating capacity in the next fifteen years than it built in the previous seventy. Most of it will be solar and storage. We want that capacity to be made well, made here, and to deliver everything it promised.

Purpose

More clean energy from every megawatt India installs.

A megawatt of nameplate is only a promise. Our purpose is to make the products that keep it — modules and storage that deliver more energy, for longer, from the same land, the same connection and the same capital.

Vision

The benchmark for engineered clean-energy manufacturing in India.

When an IPP, an EPC or a lender in India wants to know what a well-made module or a well-integrated storage block looks like, we want them to point at ours.

Mission

Build and run the country's most precise solar and storage lines.

Invest in the best process equipment available, staff it with people who measure before they assume, document everything, and grow capacity only as fast as quality allows.

Values

What we hold ourselves to.

Five commitments, written the way we expect them to be kept: plainly.

Precision

We measure rather than assume. A specification is a promise with a number in it, and we publish the number.

Reliability

Since 1959 our customers have put their own names on what we make. We build to be trusted with a brand, and with a thirty-year warranty.

Efficiency

Waste is a design flaw — in a cell, in a line, in a meeting. We remove it wherever we find it, and we pass the saving to the megawatt.

Accountability

Every module and every rack has a serial, a record and a person who signed it off. When something is wrong, we say so, and we fix it.

The long view

We are a family business in its third generation. We plan in decades, invest in capacity ahead of demand, and keep our word across cycles.

History

How we got here.

Each chapter added a discipline the next one needed: logistics, process control, brand-owner audits, precision assembly, heavy civil engineering — and now, clean energy.

  1. 1959

    Coal and minerals

The group begins as a trader of coal and minerals, learning the logistics of moving bulk material across India reliably and on time — a capability that still underpins every plant it runs.

  2. Cement

    Contract manufacturing for the majors

Three cement plants with a combined 4 MTPA capacity manufacture for ACC, Ambuja and UltraTech. Running other companies' brands to their audits taught the group the process discipline it applies everywhere else.

  3. Duraton

A premium brand of our own

Duraton Cement, positioned as India's most advanced cement, sells at a premium on the strength of robotic quality control and consistent early strength — proof that the group can build a brand, not just supply one.

  4. Consumer goods

Soaps for the world's largest brands

Four plants in India and two in Sei Mangkei, Indonesia, manufacture bathing soaps and formulations for Unilever International, Johnson & Johnson, IFFCO and Elida Beauty — Dove, Pears, Lifebuoy, Caress and Monsavon among them — making the group one of the largest soap manufacturers by volume.

  5. Precision

    Watches and surgical sutures

Earlier lines manufactured watches for Titan and surgical sutures for Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company. Both demanded clean-room discipline and micron-level tolerances — the habits a stringer line needs.

  6. Infrastructure

    Bridges and hydro-electric projects

Large bridge projects delivered with the National Highways Authority of India, and multiple hydel projects constructed in difficult terrain, gave the group its heavy civil, project-management and site-safety capability.

  7. 2026

    Lumikern Energy

A 1.2 GW N-type TOPCon bifacial module line and BESS container integration begin in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The group's first product built to sell clean energy on its own name: more output per MW.

Leadership

Leadership.

Two families, two generations, one management. The people who set up the cement and soap lines set up this one.
